The Direct Marketing Educational Foundation (DMEF) is seeking nominations and applications for the co-editor-designate of the Journal of Interactive Marketing ®, the DMEF’s premier academic journal, with experience publishing leading-edge ideas, methodologies and insights in the field of interactive marketing. The new editor’s term begins January 1, 2010 (with activities to begin July 2009), following the term of current co-editor Venkatesh (Venky) Shankar, Professor of Marketing and Coleman Chair in Marketing, Texas A&M University, and ends December 2012. The new co-editor will jointly edit the Journal with Edward C. Malthouse, Theodore R. and Annie Laurie Sills Professor, Integrated Marketing Communications, Northwestern University. The major criteria in evaluating candidates are the following:
- Recognized academic authority in the area of interactive marketing
- Prior editorial experience
- Associate professor or above at host institution
- Evidence of administrative ability
- Commitment by the potential editor’s employer for resource support
- Agreement to operate within DMEF policies and strategic guidelines
- Willingness to make the time commitment

After an initial screening of the nominations, finalists will be asked to submit a detailed proposal of their editorial philosophy for the journal.
