What is DMEF College Day? College Day is a long-standing tradition at a major industry conference - where the direct/interactive marketing field opens its doors to college students, graduate students, and their faculty advisors. On Monday, October 19, College Day welcomes you to participate in a unique program where you attend, alongside experienced practitioners, DMA09 - the world's largest and longest-running trade show for direct/interactive marketing professionals. Networking opportunities abound. Because the DMA rotates this annual event among cities, this day is a once-in-a-college-career opportunity.
A special College Day session features keynote Michael Gotfredson, President and CEO, Road Runner Sports - whose company started in a garage with one print ad - and grew to support more than 3.5 million sports enthusiasts through its catalog, web site and 21 retail operations. Following Mike's talk, an interactive Q&A practitioner panel discussion will offer sound practical advice on what they look for in a candidate for employment, and the types of direct/interactive marketing jobs that are out there.
Before this session, you're invited to DMA09's Opening General Session with Keynote Martha Stewart, Founder, Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, Inc. In addition, John Greco, President & CEO of the Direct Marketing Association will deliver a "state of direct/interactive marketing" address. After the College Day session, you're welcome to continue to attend the DMA09 Conference & Exhibition, with complimentary access to the Exhibit Hall and educational Concurrent Sessions - which provide great take-away information for the classroom and for your career.
For this one-day attendance, there is a nominal registration fee of $10. for students. (Substitutions will be permitted.) Faculty bringing groups of students will receive complimentary admission for the day. (Ordinarily conference delegates pay hundreds of dollars to attend for the day, so the savings are enormous - and the opportunities, extraordinary.)
